Saurer Schlafhorst deliveres 2.5 millionth Autoconer spindle to Kanchan India

The German textile machinery manufacturer Schlafhorst is proud to have reached a notable milestone: the first quarter of 2017 will see Autoconer winding unit number 2.5 million enter operation. At INDIA ITME, Schlafhorst is holding a small celebration at the Saurer exhibition booth to mark the handover of this milestone winding unit to the India-based company Kanchan India Ltd.

When series production of the Autoconer 107 was launched in 1962, it kicked off the age of automatic package winding. Even during its 1959 preview appearance at ITMA in Milan, its revolutionary concept thrilled the specialists from the textile industry. Since then, the Autoconer name has been synonymous with automatic package winding and its packages have represented the global benchmark. Each new product generation of the Autoconer has excelled with groundbreaking innovations. Revolutionary splice technologies, innovative sensors and control systems, the unique FX technologies and intelligent automation systems have become the standard for the textile industry, thanks to Schlafhorst. The latest product generation, the Autoconer 6, boasts of E³ certification and therefore delivers a triple helping of added value in the areas of energy, economics and ergonomics for spinning mills the world over. The company’s order books are full, demonstrating that Schlafhorst continues to have its finger on the pulse of the industry.

Kanchan India Ltd. already operates over 2,000 Autoconer winding units. The company was founded in 1996 and employs around 10,000 staff, with a daily production output of 100 tons of ring yarn made from cotton and cotton blends, as well as CO/lycra and duo-core yarns featuring various counts and qualities. “The Autoconer enables us to achieve outstanding package and splicing quality for all yarns within our broad product range,” says Mr. Nilesh Banger, Managing Director of Kanchan India.

The company is currently investing in a new and fully automated winding department, this time comprising 22 Autoconer 6 machines of type V. Kanchan India is now the happy customer that will receive delivery of Autoconer winding unit number 2.5 million in the course of this order. “We value the Autoconer as it conserves resources while delivering high productivity. We will be delighted to put Autoconer winding unit number 2.5 million into operation and we are proud to celebrate this event with Schlafhorst in our home country at INDIA ITME” says Pawan Mangal, Executive President of Kanchan India Ltd.
